Diaper Swappers

Our son due in Jan would be circ'd if not for threads on DS. I honestly had no clue about it...thought everyone did it. It was just something you do to boys. But I have since learned that it is not needed so we are choosing not to do it. But if it weren't for people telling their stories, we would just do it, simply because we didn't really think of any other way.

My kiddo is intact. No big deal, no problems. I'm not even sure if I'd call it a 'positive' story to be honest. Just is what it is. His penis, his foreskin, his favorite bath toy. Not my decision. But it's not like something I feel positively about, anymore than I feel positively about not having his appendix out or not getting his ears pierced. DH is intact too, and circ was never something we considered. Oh and I'll agree with the pp about diapering - girls are way harder to clean!

I was going to circ my son up until the minute the doctor was going to do the procedure. I just started having anxiety about (potentially) mutilating his penis. I got so much flack from my family. But now I am super glad I didn't do it. I'll admit, I didn't research a whole lot before his procedure. I just always figured if he hates his wiener when he grows up he can make his own decision then.

I have 4 little boys and they are all intact. They have never had any issues except when we've tried to use disposable diapers and they react to them. They have always been way easier to keep clean when they are in diapers than my daughter was

ETA: One of my sons had to have a catheter as a young infant when he was hospitalized and it wasn't even a big deal at all. Also another of my sons had testicle related surgery and the urologist never once brought up anything about retracting his foreskin.
