HI!! I'm new. Just wanted to introduce myself.

Hello everyone. I've been reading the forum for a couple days now and thought it was time to join. I'm due with baby number 3 in 3 short weeks and just decided to use cloth diapers. I'll be using newborn size disposables for the first month or so since I receivEd so many for my baby shower.

I still have so many questions and not sure which route I want to take. Just so many options. I'm leaning towards one size pocket diapers and/or flip diapers.

What I want in a diaper is:
Not too hot in summer (Chicago summers are HOT)
Not too bulky
Snaps instead of Velcro (I want it to last for possible baby #4)
One size
Easy to use
Fast drying
Affordable!

I know which diapers I use depends on how my baby's skin will react and so forth. I just can't afford to invest in diapers that won't work out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Congratulations and welcome!!!

I would recommend getting a few different brands (instead of buying a full stash of one kind). Several stores (including us) have a trial program as well.

For your specs, the following would fit:

Rocky Mountain Diapers
SoftBums Echo (in the new Snap version)
SoftBums Omni (in the new Snap version)
Oh Katy's
Snap-EZ one size pockets
Flip
Thirsties Duo diapers in snaps
Thirsties Duo Wraps with either hemp or stay dry inserts

Re: HI!! I'm new. Just wanted to introduce myself.

Thanks for the welcome. I've learned so much from site site already. I already feel addicted and don't even own a single cloth diaper yet!!

So far I want to try oh Katy, Softbums omni, flip, Rocky mountain, and bumgenious 4.0 (I'm actually getting 3 of these today for only$40 brand new found them on Craigslist). A co-worker is bringing me a new alvababy diaper she never got to try out. I'll do bamboo when ever I can to increase absorbancy and reduce bulk (if that's correct).

I want to use flip for days out and use another brand for regular use. Which ever diaper wins me over has to fit my new baby due in a couple of weeks and my 31lb 25 month old chunky monkey. I think I'm going to take advantage of a trial.

Any feedback on any of these brands would be appreciated.
