Constipation/Rectal Bleeding
My dd is 7.5 months old. We've been doing BLW since 6 months. We have no food allergies in either family. Within the past two weeks, she started to have more constipation, which is coinciding with increasing the food intake to about one tablespoon 3 times a day with lots of BFing. I've also noticed a tiny bit of blood around her rectum twice. At the recommendation of a friend, I ordered some Earth's Best prune/oatmeal jars. I've also been using coconut oil to help with the irritation around her bottom. I would appreciate any words of wisdom or tips! Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Constipation/Rectal Bleeding
Try pears - they work great on the constipation and maybe not quite as "powerful" as prunes.

Re: Constipation/Rectal Bleeding
My DS had some bleeding too when we started solid food. He turned out to be gluten intolerant and a little sensitive to soy, so you may want to check for allergies, even if no one else in the family has them.
Pure coconut water is good for constipation, worked well for my DS. (avoid the kind with added sugar) |

Re: Constipation/Rectal Bleeding
Thank you again! We're a few weeks past the initial post. My dd no longer has the bleeding. Thank heavens! She still has a little constipation here and there. I her system is adjusting to the big changes from being EBF.
