No, I will be at Special Beginnings in Grand Prairie. It will be my third birth there.

Re: DFW mamas

wow. congrats to all expecting!! Michelle, I am not sure where you will find a house for that budget. How big do you need it? Probably at least 3BR right? We rent from a private indiv. and our rent is 1395/mo. At the time we moved in we had 2 large dogs and now only have 1. We have been here 2 1/2 years and he is such a nice landlord. We were scared because we hadn't rented anywhere in over 10 years (had owned) but it has been better than we hoped. Not a fancy house by any means, very plain/ugly and bare bones inside, but in a great school zone and safe community. 4Br, 2Ba. We were looking at 3BR when we moved but about a month or so after getting here, I was pg with dd so probably good we have that extra room. The boys share a room but sleep apart out of necessity. So ds2 sleeps in "grandma's room". You homeschool though, right? So you might be able to find something in an area if schools aren't important to you. We lucked out on this by the grace of God seeing it on a real estate listing with 2 weeks before we were to leave NM. To be completely honest, I really really wish our rent was less. Money is tight, I won't lie. But we looked HARD for about a month or more and couldn't find hardly anything less than this range. DH was already living here and literally looked and drove all over every weekend. However that was peak season at beginning of a summer and being in winter, many landlords may be thrilled to have a property leased. I wish you all the best!!!!

Michelle, what area are you looking at? Is a fenced yard a must? We are in a mobile home community, and there are definitely some in your price range, either rent or purchase. No fenced yards though.

So happy for all you pregnant ladies! We have passed the 1 year mark of TTC, if you count the time we were not preventing we are at more like 2 years. If there is something in your water, can I borrow some water?

Re: DFW mamas

Jessica, when we were TTC before my second was born, I bought fertility tea on ebay and we were pg within 6 weeks. Gave the rest to a friend and they were pg within 3 months. I will eta the seller if I can find it. It was recommended to me by another FBS alumni (Randi) who I don't think you ever met.

mobile home community is a great option for your budget, Michelle! Sorry I didn't think of that, I was thinking yard. But if you are used to walking doggie in an apt. on a leash then you might make that work. Jessica's is in a great location (been over there once) and there are others in Mansfield too. also what about a townhome?

Re: DFW mamas

Wow, lots of pregnant Mamas here lately! Congratulations!

Michelle, we just bought a house, but our rental house before that was $1150/month. I know that's higher than you wanted to buy, but the landlords were awesome. It was a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, a nice big yard, and it was literally right next to a great walking park with a playground. Let me know if you'd want our landlord's contact info, and I hope you're able to find a place easily!
