More newborn diapering questions

So, although I've never used a fitted or even seen one aside from pictures online, I'm thinking I might like to go this route for the new baby. What are the fitteds that you've had the best experience with for newborns? Onesize would actually be nice (at least some) since I also have a 16 month old.
My preferences are that they are trim, made from all natural materials and affordable. Does anyone offer a package price for newborn or OS fitteds?

My other question- flats? Can you use these with a newborn? Also, do they work well with fleece covers?

At Modern Cloth if you order more than 12 diapers, you get $1 off per diaper. As far as fitteds go, they carry Kissaluvs, Kissaluvs Organic, and Thirsties Duo Fab Fitteds.

I am not a fan of fitteds, but man the Thirsties ones are super cute!

I think you could use flats but they might be bulky. I have mostly fitteds in my newborn stash. The kissaluvs seem very popular and I got 22 of them used on DS, so hopefully we will like them.

I used kissaluv newborn fitteds the size 0. You'll probably need the doublers b/c they aren't super absorbent imo on their own. But they are soft and fit well. Most fitteds, esp OS, aren't trim though.

Re: More newborn diapering questions

I have heard wonderful things about the FIT of the kissaluvs 0, but they are not absorbant enough on their own. BUT, you can generally find them inexpensivily on FSOT too.

A lot of mommas like the newborn Mutts too. (Muttaqin Baby on Hyena Cart) she has a Newborn size AND the size Medium Baby Shapes generally fit newbs too.

You can totally do flats on newborns too. Depending on the size of your flat you could use them with out much bulk, I know a lot of mommas have successfully used the GMD Smalls and Imagine Smalls on newborns as well.

Make sure you get good covers as well, I reccomend the Bummis Super Brite size Newborn (XS) because it fits really well under the cord and is also wipe able inner. I dont think it fits well over fitteds though, Someone tried that??

Mombecks stocks a package of Babee Greens fitteds. They're onesize and you can use the contour doubler inside as a newborn diaper.

KL0s fit awesome, but they leaked in NO time. I hated them. Fitteds didn't work out for us. We use prefolds now.

Re: More newborn diapering questions

I loved Kissaluvs and Thirsties fitteds for my NB - they were the only diapers we had that fit him right from the get go. The Thirsties are trim and even though they are sized, still have some rise options so he's still fitting in them - at 4 months - well, just about to burst out of them, but hoping to get another week or two out of them.
