Re: How do you keep going?

Have you tried taking a really good long break? Your body (and mind) may just need a recoup time factored in. It took me 10 years to have my second kid, 8 years to even consider trying and another almost 2 years to conceive. My first was a disastrous first 2 years and so I refused to even think about a second until I got over it. take a break, and I'm not talking like 6 months. Don't try preventing or anything, just promise yourself no tests for x quantity of time. I didn't finally get pregnant until I stopped taking clomid. I have 4 other friends who had the same experience.

Thank you all so much for your support. I didn't know that little hug icon held so much power.

Re: How do you keep going?

Thank you!

I have been on Clomid for 8 cycles, but that's been over the course of 7 years.

I actually talked to my RE's nurse yesterday (after my vent post) and they have OK'd a new medication Now I just need to make sure AF doesn't come on Tuesday because they are closed for Christmas (how dare they ;-))

I'm pretty sure my body was tired of the Clomid. I just hope it will be able to handle the new one. I will be on 5mgs of Femara on days 3-7 and will have a follicle scan on cd 12 to see how things are going. I'm so nervous, but I feel like there's a new reason to hope. My body did fantastic when I first started Clomid so maybe just maybe it will do as well on this.

Re: How do you keep going?

I have taken several breaks in various length. We can't not, not prevent because we have a zero sperm count so it will never happen unless we are actively ttcing and I think that's one of the most stressful factors.

The good thing is I have found some renewed faith that it can work with the new medication.

mama. I am so sorry you are going through this. I give you so much credit for persevering through it all. You are such a strong woman. My DH and I have been TTC for 18 months and just started down the fertility workup route last month to find out that he has a low sperm count (3 mil). This news is devastating. My RE recommended IVF which both DH and I are not comfortable with. DH agreed to pursue an evaluation with a urologist who specializes in male infertility so i'm hoping there is something that can help improve things. In the meantime we are going to try a round of clomid with IUI. I know our odds aren't great but I feel we need to try something.

I'm glad your doctor switched you to femera. If this doesn't work keep pushing there are other meds (like injectables that are more expensive of course) you can try. This is the hardest thing to go through.

I wish you lots of luck. I have no advise for how to find peace as i am trying to get there myself but if you ever need to talk, feel free to pm me.

Oh, good! I am glad they are trying something different. Injectables are also another option (more expensive) but they are a more aggressive treatment. It's always good to know that you do have lots of options if one thing doesn't work!

My dr kept putting me on clomid over and over again and I finally had to push her to try something different. I hope the femara works well for you!
