Re: Problems reading pattern

Weird. It's hard to fully understand without the pattern in front.

Kind of ****ty the writer didn't help you out.

I looked at the pics on Rav, it is super cute! I'm not sure what exactly it wants you to do. From the pics it looks like there's more than an inch of knitting flat, then joining for the round, all of it completed in the textured stitch.

For the texture pattern:
The 4 rows complete one repeat of the textured pattern.

I'm guessing the first 4 rows are instructions to knitting it flat (back and forth).

Then the next 4 rows are instructions to completing the textured part in the round (knit in circles).

Yea maybe I'll have to message her again.

I started knitting in the round first for an inch.

Re: Problems reading pattern

Did the pattern tell you to join in the round? I would guess it did not. It looks like a top down pattern and you are meant to knit FLAT for the first few inches until you complete the cowl portion THEN join in the round.

Ooohh I found my first mistake!! I thought I had to CO and knit in the round for 1 inch as the first step but now that you pointed this out I went back and checked and it says knit back and forth for 1 inch.

So what would you suggest I do for step 2 then? It says begin in texture pattern but thats 4 rows and then the third step says to P 6 and continue in textured until 6 sts.... But textured again is. 4 rows.

Re: Problems reading pattern

Those first and last 6 stitches are some kind of border.
