Re: Dip Recipes

This is going to sound weird but I have never met someone who didn't like this- soften cream cheese with oregano, salt and pepper. Spread into a pie pan. Best served with a rice or thin type cracker. It is amazingly simple and really good. I am also a big fan of dill flavored bread dips. Brie with roasted garlic. Although those go beyond the regular chips and dip- my in-laws always only want plain old french onion and chips- they are worried I might slip something good for them in the dip.

Buffalo chicken dip?

2 cans of chicken-drained
2 packages of cream cheese-softened
1 cup ranch dressing
And 3/4 cup your favorite hot sauce (like franks red hot)- more or less to taste

Serve with crackers, celery, or even bread.

Here are a bunch of dip ideas and more. None of which I have tried though, sorry.

Re: Dip Recipes

We do love the buffalo chicken dip which I make similar to the pp. Tonight I am changing things up and making home made buffalo chicken wontons

Other hot dips I make are a "taco dip" I have no idea why it is called that just something that stuck. You spread cream cheese in the bottom of a baking dish, spread a can of chili(I often use hormel), then a drained can of rotel, cover with shredded cheddar, bake, and eat with doritos and or fritos.

Based on the taco version I created a pizza dip. Same idea. You spread the cream cheese in the bottom, cover with pizza sauce(Don Pepino), a bag of mini pepperoni or slices I rough chop(food proccesor), shredded mozz. bake, and eat with thinly sliced french bread that I brushed with EVOO and sprinkled with kosher salt then toast in the oven.

I often make homemade hummus, a white bean and feta dip, cowboy caviar(I do not eat this because it falls under my "inappropriate use or corn rule) but other people LOVE it.

We eat this with the tortilla chips shaped like a bowl

Re: Dip Recipes

We do taco dip every year. I've only had compliments:

1 pk cream cheese, softened,
1 small container of sour cream
salsa
shredded cheese (we use old cheddar)
1 pkg taco seasoning

Mix cream cheese, sour cream and taco seasoning together. Spread at bottom of a pan. Spread salsa over cream cheese mixture, and top with shredded cheese. Serve with tortilla chips. Yummy and simple!

*I have a friend who also adds a layer of chopped lettuce in hers, but its too 'stringy' and makes it messier than I like. I prefer it without
