I'm going to make wool dreadlocks by felting wool roving into 40 inch strips and somewhere around 1/2 inch thick... each will make 2 dreadlocks (you fold the 40 in strip in half and braid one 20 inch half into your hair). I've seen all the videos using random bags of roving from craft stores, but I would rather buy the super gorgeous colorways from etsy and such. Saying this, I've never bought roving before so I have no idea how much I'd need or how far a normal bunch of 4 oz. would get me... I don't want to have all different colors so I need to buy it all at once from the same dye batch, but I've never seen a skein (is it considered a skein if it isn't yarn yet?) of roving undone before. I want something darker colored that's kinda brunette or earthy dark colors like deep purple, rust, deep green, etc. Really rustic colors. I'll check it out
