Incision pain...

Hey ladies I'm 29 weeks and pregnant with #3. I've had 2 previous c-sections in '04 & '06 and scheduled for one in March. Anyways I've been sick w a bad cough and have noticed that the more I cough I am starting to feel some pain around my incision. Is that common since it's been years? I know my uterus is expanding and she is moving down but I just feels off... This happen to anyone else?

It's normal. You'll always have that there.

Completely normal! My 1st c/s was in '99, my next pg/c/s was in '08- almost 10 years later- and the icision pain was really bad- as you are healing from the c/s, your body can form adhesions all around where the different layers stick together with scar tissue- as your uterus expands and grows with a future pg, these adhesions stretch and can break apart- if you cough or sneeze suddenly without supporting that area (and even if you are sometimes) it tears them some, making them hurt even more- I've done this several times, once it was so painful I was doubled over in tears.

There is a product out there now called SepraFilm that the doc can use during a c/a to prevent the adhesions from attaching to the uterus- it's supposed to help prevent adhesion pain in subsequent pg.

It may be from the scar getting stretched, I have been having a burning feeling across my scar this pregnancy, I did not experience this with my 2nd c/s, so it scared me but I am told it is normal because of the scar tissue.
make sure you bring it up to your dr at your next appt.
