Bleb
Had anyone dealt with blebs? TMI: I have had what looks like milk blisters on one of my nipples. It is really painful. I have been using warm washcloths and increased nursing, but it's not really helping. Any suggestions?

Re: Bleb
Oh you poor dear
I had one in July and it was horrific! I know it is painful but you must nurse and pump, nurse and pump, and nurse some more. I used moist heat like a warm washcloth w/ a heating pad for 10 minutes at least every 2 hours and then pumped or nursed. Try different nursing positions. Being on all fours seemed to help. I did rupture the blister w/ a sterile needle and then put gentian violet to prevent any potential infection. I was frantic! I have well over 100 months of nursing and for the first time truly understood why women wean. Without the support of DH and a LC who came to the hossy to see me on 4th of July I don't know what I would have done. I will warn you it can take many days to totally resolve. Mine was caused by a biting injury and I wondered if it would ever stop. :bighugs: You can do it! Hang in there.

Thanks ladies! The info from kellymom was so helpful! I think thrush is the culprit.

Re: Bleb
I have always popped my blebs. I just make sure to lean over a sink, since I usually have a lot of backed up milk that comes pouring out as soon as the bleb pops.
Hope you are feeling better soon. |
