Re: Take a freaking nap already!

If you're up for some comic relief:

yes, its an actual book, and no, you're not alone.

Re: Take a freaking nap already!

If this continues to be an issue, I would dump the blanket (as in not use one) when he's laid down at the house for naptime. We have a small square fabric with silk around that is a lovey that we use at naptime. This may elimante having to go in to remove the blanket over his head and the struggle of putting the sleep sack on.
Naptimes are sacred for me...I need my quiet time and I'm sure you need yours too!

I hope it gets better soon.

My BIL gave us this book for Christmas. I couldn't bring myself to ever read it to a child. It did make us snicker, though.

It's not a children's book - it's meant for adults only.

OP, I go through this every single day so I feel your pain!

ditto. i get pathetic, stressed out texts from my mom around 2pm everytime she watches ds wanting to know why he won't nap when he's just sitting around crying, flinging himself around to keep himself awake, and desperately trying to keep his eyes open. and then i'm treated to the same crap on the weekends when i'm home with him.

daycare though, sheesh. he sleeps 2-3 hours there every.single.time. my theory is the herd mentality. if all the other kids are doing it.....why not? i've asked them their secret and i usually get "oh, we never have a problem, it's so easy to get him to calm down. sometimes he's fussy and we just pat his back a bit and he drifts right off". ugh. i would have to pin him down with my elbow to keep him still enough to pat his back with the other hand.

Oh man we might have the same kid. I get the same stories day after day. I explain my plights and I get the puzzled looks "Huh. We've never had that happen to us."
