Re: If you ship from home come in....

I usually leave it in the box if its small and will fit. Also, a LOT of grocery stores will mail packages in their customer service department. There are rarely lines there either. Sometimes I will just drop off packages there because its easier than going to teh PO and usually we need something from the store anyway.

If its small enough, I put it in the mailbox. Otherwise I schedule a pick-up at my front door. You can only do that if you have at least one priority or express item though.

Personally, I don't trust the mail man. the last package I left in my mailbox only had to go a few towns over and ended up taking over a week amd went to two other states! it just seems there isn't much care anymore. I take them to the po. If you post them at home, you can drop them in the automated postal drop.

Re: If you ship from home come in....

We do a few different things.

If the item is too big for our mailbox, we either take it to the p.o. drop box or we leave it on our porch, putting the flag up on the mailbox and leaving a nice note in the mailbox asking the postman to pick up the package on our porch.

We have never had a problem with them picking it up off the porch and we have never scheduled pick ups. I thought it was included in their job to deliver and pick up mail, guess it may not be in some areas. Maybe for the walking routes? We are in a driving route.

I wonder if I can drop in regular blue drop boxes if I already have postage on it?

Yep if it fits and you've paid shipping online you can drop it in the blue boxes

It says 13oz limit...but that's if you use stamps (at the po they ask you "anything flammable perishable dangerous) and you answer that when you purchase your lablel online
