Talk to me about Fenugreek and Mothers Milk Tea....
DD just had her tongue and lip clipped. You may have read my previous post. If not, the run down is, that she went from the 80% in weight down to the 30% in weight in less than 2 months. She didn't even gain a whole pound in 1.5 months. LC's where I took her for the weight check said that weight gain slows around 4 months old, but I knew something was not right.
So, I think my supply might have dropped off at some point. The let down is fairly slow, and sometimes dd gets impatient waiting for it, or when she is done on the first side, she fusses. I got some Fenugreek capsules and some Mothers Milk Tea. My question is, how long do I take them before I should notice an increase in my supply? How did this combo work for you? Thanks!

Re: Talk to me about Fenugreek and Mothers Milk Tea....
Tongue clipping and milk supply story happened to us too. I only used Fenugreek, and it worked amazingly! However, keep in mind that it starts showing effects a day or 2 after you start taking them ...not immediately, so dont get discouraged if you take a few capsules and next feeding doesnt show a difference! ...Oh and you'll start smelling like maple syrup, lol, kinda weird but not a bad thing I guess.

I never really noticed the MM tea helping, but I just started taking alfalfa, and noticed a difference in about 2 days.

24-48 hours is pretty typical time frame to begin noticing a difference. Good luck!

The herbs take a couple of days to kick in for most mamas. If you want to try to get a quick, short term boost while you're waiting for them to take effect, eat some oatmeal (not instant, the real stuff) and snack on some almonds. Keep up the good work, mama!
