NO NO NO NO ....coffee is making me naseuated!!!

Its gonna be OK!! Its only the first 3 months....your taste for it will come back.

The smell of coffee made me want to puke for the first 12 weeks of EVERY pregnancy. The beans, grinding, and brewing...ughh shudder.

Once I got through the first trimester, I tried it again, now I like it!

I drank my iced coffee just fine for about the first trimester, then it started making me feel sick. I can drink it occasionally now but not much. It sucks. I drink coke or tea when I need a little caffeine.

Tea seems to be doing ok for me. But yeah.. it sucks. LOL

I could drink it in the first trimester & then by 17-20w range couldn't drink it anymore. I am so sad as it was my caffeine fix!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL me too! I drink unsweet decaf tea, and it's VERY rare that I drink a soda.. .so yeah... oh well, maybe if I make it a little weaker and use a bit more milk. We'll give it a whirl. LOL

Coffee is one of the few things I could tolerate my first trimester, and I am only a weekend drinker. I couldn't stand it for long because I was so hypersensitive to smell, but my husband brought it to me on a semi regular basis after his work. We couldn't brew it for long in our apartment cause the smell would eventually make me sick. EVERY smell made me sick. I had to eat cold. non smelly food. Or coffee, as long as it wasn't too sweet.

I feel for you. I'm a vegetarian and I practically live on wheat pastas and veggies. I remember staring at my dinner bowl and blinking at it, flabbergasted my stomach was in knots and wondering what the heck I was supposed to eat now that 70% of my diet had been wiped out.

On the upside, Congratulations! And I hope your aversion lasts much shorter than mine did!

You saying you are a vegetarian reminded me of this TV show. Did you ever watch Dharma & Greg? Dharma's mom was pregnant, and as they were all having dinner with Greg's parents, Abby (the pregnant lady) was just tearing into this huge turkey leg. Kitty (Greg's mom) said to Dharma "I thought Abbey was a vegetarian?"

Dharma said "Oh, she is. But apparently the baby isn't, and Abbey doesn't want to force her beliefs on it."

Anyway.. I LOVE broccoli. We had a gift card to Chili's so we went there for dinner last night. As one of my sides I got broccoli, because it sounded SOO good, and I wanted to be responsible and eat some good-for-me food with my fried stuff.. LOL

Anyway, I took one bite of the broccoli and instantly the texture wanted to make me gag! I ended up getting french fries WITH my mashed potatoes! And both items were delish! LOL.

I got up with my husband this morning and his coffee smelled SOOO yummy! I may try to make some after I eat lunch. Fingers crossed!

I feel very fortunate though, as I'm way less nauseated than I was at this point in my pregnancy with my first 4 pregnancies! So I'm hoping that means that the sickness will stay this mild!

I'm sure it will get better. I was fine with the smell but the taste made me ill in the first trimester. Then for a bit the smell was bad for me, but the taste was fine. LOL! NOW I can drink it just fine. I limit myself to one cup or less per day, but it is so good when I get it now.

I did it! I REALLY wanted a cup of coffee today, and I had it. And it was yummy and it didn't make me sick.

WOO HOO!! Hope it wasn't a fluke.

That was my first sign something was up, it really started making me sick. Even just the smell. By the end of 1st trimester I was able to tolerate it again. That was such a happy day!
