Waco?

Can anyone tell me anything about Waco? We are looking into a job opportunity there and I would like to know more about the neighborhoods, where to live and where not to, schools both public and private. Is the public transit any good? What is the average rent?

Re: Waco?

I went to school there at TSTC for a couple of years but I drove over and hour each way. It's a big college town, I believe there are 3 colleges total so the rent probably goes from low to quite high depending on what you want to pay and what you are looking at renting. I've looked at apartments online before and the prices weren't any worse then they are where I live now. I'm not sure about all of the neighborhoods there. However, there are plenty of smaller towns or smaller parts of Waco to consider such as lacy lakeview, bellmead, etc. I hope this at least helps you some. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help

We have lived in Waco for the last year. Not really sure about rent as we own a house in Hewitt which is suburb on the south side of Waco. It's a great area with grate schools. There are lots of rental duplexes in the area. If you are looking for good public schools you will want to stay in one of the burbs.., namely Hewitt, china springs, Robinson, woodway.

Overall we are loving it here!
