EviePants pattern question
I just got the EviePants pattern (and some nice wool for the first time!!) and I am just having a hard time deciding what size to make. If anybody has the pattern would you be willing to help me out?
Her measurements are: Waist- 17 inches Hips- 19.5 inches (over a huge one size diaper) or 18 inches (over a sized well fitting diaper) Rise- 15.5 inches I can't decided if I should do the small/med or the medium! I have only been knitting a year and I am not super confident so making my own size really intimidates me. I have no problem following a pattern exactly though She is only 11 weeks old but is short and stocky I would like the longies to fit now and last at least a few months. Any help is VERY much appreciated! Thanks!

Re: EviePants pattern question
My only advice is to do a gauge swatch! Even if you choose the right size, it might turn out wrong if your gauge is not 4.5.

Re: EviePants pattern question
Thanks for the advice! I usually check my gauge and then I constantly check the measurements as I am knitting, I don't want to have to frog the entire thing and start over...I'm too lazy for that

Re: EviePants pattern question
I would go medium and then measure the rise as you knit to fall somewhere in between the sm/med on the rise. Same on the inseam: stop at the length that your DD measures to.

Re: EviePants pattern question
I'd do the size that will correspond with your proper hip measurement. The waist can be cinched and the rise can be shortened, but the hips will always be true to size.
![]() I don't have the pattern in front of me, but I'd say the sm/med is probably your best bet. The med hip is 19 iirc.
