I agree. I feel that *my* feelings over a child having to leave are not as important as giving a child a safe and loving home while they are with me.

If the child gets attached to you it is a GOOD thing. That means they can attach.

Our SW was very concerned about our 9 month old FD. She was moved to us at 6 months from a very doting foster home who decided they could not adopt her. We had a tear filled few weeks, oh, and I did not let anyone hold that child outside of the family, so she could feel secure with us.

We only take in low legal risk placements, so we have never had a placement fall through. Fd was the oldest child we took in at 6 months old.
