Re: Diaper Sprayer - Necessity or luxury?

Depends on who it is. For us - I'd say it is a necessity if we want to actually keep it up with the cloth diapers. I am pretty sure dunking peanut butter poop into the toilet endlessly and/or scraping it off with a spatula would make me pretty ill - and forget about hubby doing that at all. If you can handle dealing with sticky poop without it - more power to ya!

I don't need one. We don't get many poops here that can't be plopped into the toliet, but for those few peanut butter poops I just use my peri bottle and it works great

I don't have one, and have been using cloth for 6 months. My son doesn't usually have ploppable poops, though, so I'm considering getting one.

I don't have one, but I do have a garden hose attached to the shower head in our master bath (long story) so occasionally I will use that. More often than not though I just dunk her poo. We're in the process of potty learning so she doesn't have as many poopy diapers as before.

Ditto! At almost 2 years we still have HUGE peanut butter poops. It ends up smooshed on the diaper from front to back. I have no idea how I would get that mess off w/o a sprayer. So for us, it is a necessity.

Finding out about diaper sprayers is actually why I even considered switching to cloth. I use mine all the time. Occasionally I have a diaper that has to be dunked and a sprayer isn't a "necessity" but for full time cloth diapering, it's DEFINITELY worth it to me!

Necessity!!!!

Poop is pretty much the grossest thing about cloth diapers. I love our diaper sprayer and although I guess you technically don't need one, it's really great to have.

I would never choose to not get one, partly because I remember when my mom did cloth diapers with my younger brother, and all the hassle getting poop off them.

I cloth diapered my girls doing dunk & swish. It gets the job done but I have a diaper sprayer now & love it. It gets the diapers cleaner & faster. I'd consider it in the middle between necessary & luxury.

I figure it's a good investment also in that it helps cut down on stains & in turn, when I sell our diapers down the road, I'll make more $$ back due to their better, stain free condition.

I also use it to clean the bath tub & bathroom sink. I'm disabled & it makes cleaning a breeze

Re: Diaper Sprayer - Necessity or luxury?

I remember once when my hubby was cleaning up a particularly disgusting diaper he said it was worth every penny. I think it's a necessity. I remember trying to scrap stuff off with tp and it doesn't compare at all to the effectiveness of a diaper sprayer. He commented the other day after cleaning up my son's diaper that it's such a great invention.
