Raw silk liner

Hemp Babies™ Raw Silk Liner
Silk is the only 100% natural wicking material able to help keep little bottoms drier. Silk has natural anti-bacterial properties that may keep yeast and diaper rash at bay. 100% raw silk. Liner measures 5" x 12".

Has anyone tried these?

Re: Raw silk liner

Yes, I have three of them. I use them on occasion at nighttime or whenever I think DS needs a break from suedecloth. The only thing about them is that I'm not really sure how to care for them. When I first got them, they seemed waxier, but after a poop on them, I tried handwashing them like the instructions said and the poop wouldn't come off. The instructions also said you could machine wash/dry them if needed, so I did that. Now I do that every time and I don't know if that got rid of the sericin or what, because they don't seem too waxy anymore. So I still use them but I'm not sure if they still have their advertised qualities. And I don't know how effective they are at wicking moisture, either. Maybe other mommas know!

Re: Raw silk liner

I know that when ds had a yeast rash that wouldn't go away, these were recommended to me. I never ordered them because GV did the trick. I am considering them again because DS sometimes gets a mild rash from his nighttime urine (concentrated). I am awaiting what others think!

I have something similar but sold by Little Beetles and I really think they work. I use them with ds' nighttime fitted and even though I've washed them in the washing machine and dried them in the drier a few times, his bottom never seems to get red from sitting in a wet dipe for that long (this 23 m.o. sleeps 11 hrs at night). I haven't found it to keep the skin really dry per se but it seems to do the job of keeping his bottom rash free. HTH

Re: Raw silk liner

I just got mine today from Cottontail Babies. I was thinking of using them in our fleece and suedecloth lined dipes. DD gets a rash when she wears those all day.
I usually put her in fitteds and wool, but dh likes the pockets.

I have raw silk mama pads, and they do not have a stay dry feel at all, in fact they feel very wet when they get wet. I wash and dry mine in the dryer. I have no idea if they help with yeast, but I know sunshine kills yeast.

Re: Raw silk liner

I bought some raw silk and made up some of my own liners. DD has never had a realy problem with a rash, but she'll get red overnight some of the time. Poo doesn't stick to them that badly and I've noticed less red bum when using them.
I've got extra I'd be willing to part with if you want them, pm me.
