Used cloth for first time and it leaked!

I would try again mama, don't be scared! It happens at first until you get the hang of it. I know when I first started cding my lo I didn't have the cover tight enough and it would leak out the legs.

This exactly. It's complete trial and error until we figure out our own preferred systems and how to work said system. I'm sure with more washes and wears it will work out! Don't give up yet!

If you wash gpants on hot the nylon can loose its waterproofing. Is that a possibility?

I misunderstood- I thought you meant only the prefold had the wet spot. I would still recommend a bit more prepping, but that may not be the problem. The wet spot was in the middle if the liner, not near the edge?

Can you test the liners by running some water in them?

I would recommend checking out the gdiaper site. There are some great videos and tips there. There is definitely a little trial and error with the g's.
