Where to buy used toys in Germany
Every year I travel to Germany (Oldenburg area)with my two kids to visit my grandma. She doesn't really have any toys. I'd like to buy some used toys that I can keep there for the kids but don't really want to buy new since they only use them 3 weeks out of the year. My girls are currently 2.5 yrs and 10 months. I am so used to craigslist here and used kid stores and I just don't know where to get stuff over there. Anybody have any recommendations?

Re: Where to buy used toys in Germany
Best bet will be kinderflohmarkts for used items. There is also German ebay and they have a kleienanziege which is like craigs list with set prices. Craigs list is not very popular but it does exist. You can also watch the stars and stripes ads for europe for military families selling things.
You can also watch classified adverts on www.toytowngermany.com that is an english expat forum. Otherwise www.mytoys.de has very good prices on new items. Hope that helps.

Re: Where to buy used toys in Germany
What are you looking for specifically (books, wooden toys etc)? Does your grandma knit? Knitted toys are fun. Or have her get a cardboard box and make a play kitchen with her old pot and pans and yogurt containers, my son loved his cardboard box oven. Have her collect macroons or pinecones for the older one and give them with a serving spoon to dig around. Maybe even buy a few new toys and take them home since their tastes may change next time u visit, such as wood building blocks. There are codes online for my toys.de in case you go that route.
