would u pay more for a hand dyed dipe?
Im thinking of having some bamboo sandys dyed with dharma dyes by a mama on ds. Im just wondering if u all would pay more for a well dyed used bamboo dipe than u would for a natural colored used dipe? I know that i would, but im just curious if i would be able to recoup any of the dying cost by ld increasing e the resale.
Thanks! |

Re: would u pay more for a hand dyed dipe?
Personally I wouldn't. I typically prefer the simplicity of unbleached diapers, although I did get one of the Sandy's colors to try it. Also, I prefer the inners to still be unbleached. When they are dyed the inners get dyed too. I do not think you'd be able to recoup on FSOT for the dyed diapers, actually, I think the others would sell more easily, but I could be wrong. Hope others can chime in and offer their thoughts.

Personally, it wouldn't affect the price in my eyes. I wouldn't pay more for them because they were dyed, but I wouldn't pay less for them either.
I like pretty dyed diapers, but I also love the plain simplicity, it just depends on my mood. It also depends on what I'm using it for as I prefer my night diapers to all be white/natural to be easily discernible. If you would prefer to look at them if they were dyed then go for it! At the end of the day, they're used diapers and I think how much you'll get for them at resell value depends more on their condition and how you took care of them (IMHO). I'm sure that you'll be able to find someone who prefers dyed and someone who prefers natural.

I really dislike dyed diapers so there's no way i'd pay a premium but I think I'm in the minority.

I wouldn't pay more for a hand dyed Sandy. I don't see how it's worth more because someone dyed it.

Re: would u pay more for a hand dyed dipe?
i like tie-dye and dip dye, so i might pay a *bit* more for them. however, depending on a lot of factors, the dying process might make your dipes wear out faster, and, well. that might be something to consider. i dyed a dozen Sandy's myself, had a blast doing it, and have been enjoying them for over a year now. I can't help but wonder if that's the reason why they seem to be deteriorating faster than other dipes in my rotation tho.. In the end, i'd do it again tho. i care less about resale later and more about enjoyment now.
