I think I'm losing my mind.

So... Myles had a rash. It got to the point of bleeding when I wipe him. I thought it might be a yeast infection. I used the nystatin with sposies for a week to no avail. I am actually convinced that it made it worse. SO! I went out and bought some max strength desitin yesterday & it's gone. over night! My question is... I was planning on using this link [http://www.ehow.com/how_8050024_yeas...-diapers.html] to get rid of the 'yeast' that I thought was there. I have a giant stack of diapers/wipes that I feel like I need to de-yeast... and I can't bring myself to do it because I feel like it'd be a waste of time. BUT! I also can't bring myself to stick him back in cloth. What are your thoughts? Waste of time, or do it just to be safe? Any other remedies? I thought about just adding some vinegar to the rinse cycle, but I've never used vinegar or dawn on my dipes... only the detergent & bleach (once a month). I need advice. ♥ TIA!

If Desitin made it go away, it's not yeast. Sounds like there was something yucky going on, so I would go ahead and do a wash with some bleach and an extra rinse or two.

I agree, if desitin made it go away, it is unlikely that yeast was the problem. It would probably be a good idea to use some bleach and then do a few washes like PP mentioned.

I'd third the bleach and a few extra rinses. Diaper rashes can be weird. Twice, my DS has had strange, ugly boil-like spots (just one spot each time). The first time it happened, the spot went away within 4 or so hours before i could even treat it. The second time it happened, we had a ped appointment and my ped just shrugged and said kids get things like this. It disappeared on it's own a bit later.

once i thought my daughter had a yeast infection- and took her to the ped to make sure- and he said nope

looking at pics of yeast infected skin on line can help
or you can post a pic and ask experienced moms too

Sounds like me a month ago. A change of detergent and 1/3 cup of bleach in every wash for 2 weeks did the trick. I also decreased the number of diapers in the load.

Sounds like you have bacteria in his diapers which gave him the rash. You need to bleach the diapers and change your wash routine.

if you have sun, id sun the diapers too and crank up the water heater when you wash the diapers.
