Re: Big mammas Weight loss February Thread
I love how I feel low carb, too. Like I said though, I made the decision to not really follow any particular low carb diet because I really have to avoid a lot of fats. However, I did read a lot on the Atkins website and it gave me good ideas on veggies that have high carb contents to eat in place of refined carbs.
The idea of cutting out grains is not new to me. I've researched it a lot in the past as it was recommended to me for my thyroid issues (I have an autoimmune thyroid disorder). Eating grains are linked to autoimmune diseases. I would love to be able to cut all grains out, but I'm not sure if I could do it. Maybe later down the line. For now I have been eating WAY less of them and am already feeling much better!

Re: Big mammas Weight loss February Thread
Good Morning all! It's a new week, anyone have anything fun planned?
I'm on week two of c25K. We are hoping to take ds to a train show this weekend, and other than that I'm not really sure what else. Oh, and I think I'm a spike day believer. I've been trying to only weigh once a week. But since I was trying something new I wanted to know how it would effect the scale. I'm down two pounds this morning after my three week stall. I was down 1.5 yesterday so two mornings in a row isn't bad. BUT I still am going to try holdign off logging it until Friday when I feel confident it's for real. But if this works I may have to try this more often. I don't know if I'll go for every week, but maybe just as often as I feel I need them.

Re: Big mammas Weight loss February Thread
Okay, still have no scale, so I am not really tracking my weight, but I am trying to do better with eating, which is difficult in temporary quarters. I am going to go for a good walk this morning. I think the gym is fairly close by, so I might check it out some time this week. Haven't decided for sure, as I know I won't be going to the gym on anything close to a regular basis once we move into a house. We did put in an offer on a houses, but because the house is technically under contract, it is considered a back up offer. Found out yesterday there was another back up offer put in, so we upped ours. We should know no later than Thursday if we get this house. If we don't, we already know what other house we will offer on.
My struggle for this week will be to cut the soda out again. Day 2 of no soda is always the hardest for me. Oh, and for all of you ladies talking grains, I have found it's not so much grains in general my body doesn't like, it's wheat and refined grains. When I stick to brown rice blends, and whole grain spelt, I feel pretty good. |

Re: Big mammas Weight loss February Thread
Good luck on the house! I will be moving to a new state in June. I am excited but anxious at the same time!
And, yes, for me the grains I tend to do better without are wheat/gluten. I can eat rice and oatmeal without problems.
