Bamboo Experts

I purchased bamboo that was described to me as preshrunk, the seller said it had been washed at least four times but she was certain it was five.

I washed it prior to sewing out of habit and it shrunk, is this normal ? I've sewn with it before years ago, and from what I remember at this point it should be done shrinking but I could be wrong.

Thanks!

I've never seen it shrink past the first hot wash and dry.

I thought so but figured I'd double check. Others experiences are welcomed.

Thank you!

Seems a little strange, but if she has a machine like a front loader and you have a top loader I can possibly see it. My mom's front loader isn't very good at all when it comes to preshrinking fabrics. I remember the first couple of times she made the boys pants out of interlock. She washed to shrink but they still shrank a ton after sewing and being washed in my "rough em up" top loader. lol!

Re: Bamboo Experts

I just bought 63 yards of bamboo/hemp that was pre-washed and was all excited I wouldn't have to prep and another mama on here told me it would shrink more so I cut the fabric bigger then I wanted it and it didn't shrink at all

I washed it in a top loader. I would think it would've been done shrinking? Unfortunately the overall transaction was not a great one and it makes me wonder the honesty. Kind of bummed.

Boy, that is a bummer. I hate when transactions are sour like that.
