Planting from seeds

Can someone teach me how to plant from seeds? There's so many ways- egg cartons, peat moss pots, warming blankets, etc.

Any fav tutorials or links?

Re: Planting from seeds

I've always just started them from the little expandable peat pots, sometimes in the cardboard egg cartons, and just set them in a sunny windowsill. I know several people that soak their seeds in between 2 wet paper towels until they sprout and then plant them, but I've not tried that way. This year will be the first that I've used a warming pad under the little peat pots, since the only sunny spot I have is mighty chilly. This seems very to the point and has good advice

I love this site!:

This year I'm starting in the flats/trays with the tiney .5" diameter spots for the plants. I forgot to save my egg cartons. Then I will be upping to peat pots. DH made a frame for the wagon to tote the plants in/out of the shed to spend the days in the sun.
