Stash Help!
I am new to cloth diapering and am expecting my little man in 5 weeks. I am getting nervous that I don't have enough of everything.
Currently I have: 6 size 1 Indian prefolds 6 size 2 Indian prefolds 5 size 1 thirsties duo covers 5 size s gdiaper covers 12 gdiaper hemp inserts 3 all in ones What is your ladies opinions of my stash? What do I need more of? Thank you in advance for your opinions and comments. |

Do you have the gdiaper liners too? You need those to make them waterproof. It is a 3 part system.
I don't think you have enough. At least 24 newborn diapers are needed for full time cloth diapering in that stage. 36 is best in my experience. Think about how many would go in your washer for a wash load, plus a bunch to use while they wash and dry - that is how many you need. You can get by with 4-6 covers but you need to snappi, pin, or otherwise fasten the prefold or absorbent piece to keep poo off the cover as much as possible. Newborn poo gets everywhere and they poop very frequently. Hope that helps!!!

I'd definitely get more diapers and covers. I'd say another 12 diapers at least and another 3-5 xs or size 1 covers. Smalls generally don't fit right away unless you're expecting a very large (10+lb) baby. Maybe grab a dozen of these?

i agree you need at least 24 (36 is better) to do cloth full time. i'd get at lest another dozen prefolds. i think you're good on covers tho.
