Re: Positive Natural Birth Book?

I loved Ina May Gaskins books, especially Spiritual Midwifery. Even though they're kind of home-birth books, I found the mindset to be very empowering (and she doesn't, from what I remember get into hospitals being horrible or anything like that). I had my LO in hospital (drug-free), but Gaskin's books really shaped the way I went into labor.

Re: Positive Natural Birth Book?

I feel like one of the best books out there is one by Helen Wessel. It is not based on fear but education. And she isn't defensive. It's called, "The Joy Of Natural Childbirth" It's sold on amazon, but it's no longer in print. Make sure to get the 5th edition (most recent and easy to read). I have love, love it and give it away to first time mamas. ♥
