washing poop off of wool wrap

I use a fitted diaper with an imse vimse wool wrap at night for my little girl. Occasionally she goes #2 when she wakes up (she's 4 months)...
It usually never gets out of the fitted but this last time it did. I am used to hand washing and lanolizing my cover but this was the first time I had to wash poo off first. I read that I was supposed to use olive oil soap...didnt' have any so I used a pure soap. I washed the spots and then soaked and washed as usual. The orangy stains didn't come out (bf baby)... The cover said that it is machine washable so I tried putting it in my machine with some wool wash on the gentle wool cycle but the stains remain. Is my cover ruined???

What am I supposed to do in the future???

PLEASE HELP

Imse Vimse wool wraps are tough, I used to just wash mine with my regular diaper laundry on hot with Tide. I would scrub the spot with dawn and a toothbrush, it's really hard to ruin that cover since it's so felted already.

Just hang it in the sun to dry. If it's breast milk poop it will magically fade I've even put diapers in the window when I couldn't put them outside and it still works.

Thanks!

Anyone else have advice for getting stains out once she starts solids? Should I scrub the stain with dawn and a toothbrush then sun it??

Re: washing poop off of wool wrap

I use those covers a lot and agree with PP about sunning the cover. However, it may take a while for the stain to fade ....I find the wool stains don't fade as fast as the cotton stains. Good luck!
