Sorry! Yes, it stands for soft structured carrier. Also sometimes known as buckle carriers, but the SSCs in particular have that wide, firmly padded, "structured" waist. Example brands would be Beco Butterfly and Gemini, Boba 3G, Ergo carriers, and BabyHawk Oh Snap.

Re: Top 3

ring sling- super easy on and off, easy to nurse in, easy to transport in a diaper bag, can get them nice close and cover their head from prying hands and eyes

mei tai- easy to use and nurse in, very versatile

woven- same reasons, except there is the matter of learning curve and a lot of fabric

My go-tos, though are a Mei Tai and beco 4G if I had to pick one type for infant thru toddlerhood

Newborn- SleepyWrap, Ring Sling I like the Sleepywrap for longer wear since it is over both shoulders, super cozy, and truly handfree. I like the ring sling for quick in and outs and nursing.

Older Baby- Mei Tai- easy to nurse, weight distributed over both shoulders, adjustable
Ring Sling- quick in and out, easy to store in the diaper bag, looks a little dressier for more formal occasions (had a couple funerals to attend)
Ergo- Easy in and out, able to back carry and get him in without help easily, most hands free for me

Is the boba sleepy wrap the same as a moby?
