Glad you found something that worked Mama!

That's what I would have suggested. My DD's a stubborn burper and the only way we can get 'em out of her is to bounce her on our knee. We actually make a game of it now where we bounce her to a rhyme song. The downside is that sometimes the bouncies bring up more than just burps. But, I'd rather clean a few extra cloths than have a miserably gassy baby!

Some babies seem to want to hold their burps for ransom so you gotta do whatever you can!

The absolutly best thing in the whole wide world to get burps and settle the babies tummy is peppermint water. Disolve a peppermint disk in water and give a few drops or so to the baby. It is awesome!!! It settles my little guys tummy right away!!
I hope your LO feels better.

Hey, Mama.

I personally didn't have any success with Mylicon drops but my pedi suggested Bio Gaia. It's basically a baby probiotic which is thought to reduce gas in baby's tummy. It also didn't work for my girlie but maybe it'll work for yours???? You can get it OTC at a drugstore but it's pretty new so many pharmacists haven't heard of it yet.

The best thing that worked for my dd2 was to bounce on the new and pat at the same time. I would pat about 6-7 times then stop bouncing and apttin I'd give her 10 seconds or so before beinning to pat again. It usually worked the first or second round.

Re: ideas and help needed

I had a difficult burping DD at first, too. There were a lot of times that no burp ever came and it didn't seem to really bother her. The only way I could ever get her to burp (if I could) was to hold her to my chest so we were chest to chest. Then I would lean over until she was horizontal to the floor, supporting her fully, and then I would slowly go back up. I would have to repeat this several times. This one worked for my cousin's baby, too, who was also a really hard burper...
