Please tell me about borax and diaper laundry

Borax and washing soda can be rough on diapers if they don't dissolve properly. That will make them harder to wash out too. So I guess just don't use too much especially if you have diapers with PUL. I use them most loads as a booster along with oxobrite. I use both borax and washing soda in my homemade detergent, which I use to wash all of our clothes and it works great!
From the research I have done, washing soda is good for hard water because it contains sodium. Borax when dissolved into water actually creates oxygen and turns into hydrogen peroxide helping to get rid of stains and gently whiten clothes.

Sorry, are you talking about borax or calgon? Curious bc I have hemp and borax...

Borax, but if you use it and have no problems then I guess it's okay. I think as long as you are able to rinse it out then you are okay.

I use Borax for my initial rinse load for my diapers because we have hard water & I can't find Calgon at the stores around here. We have MF, hemp, & bamboo all in our stash & I haven't had any rash issues. I use 1/4 cup.

I too use a homemade borax/washing soda laundry soap on my diapers for about a year now. The soap I have always used is Dr.Bonners Tea Tree oil bar. I have used it on my babykicks organics & Joeybunz inserts {which contain hemp} with no problems that I have noticed.
ETA: I only use about 1 to 2 tablespoons of detergent which contains the borax. So its not much that is going into a load.
