Re: speaking of no vax and delaying...

There are links in the sticky thread at the top of this particular forum. Lots of websites (although they are not all equally reliable).

I recommend starting with your pediatrician. They have years of education and hopefully can give you a basic understanding of the method of action of the vaccines and the diseases they are designed to prevent. Then, if you have questions you didn't get answered, check out those more reliable sites listed in the sticky.

Re: speaking of no vax and delaying...

i think the answer depends on why your not vaccinating or why you have delayed?

I like Dr.Sears book personally...

When I choose when and why to get a vaccination i personally look at -

what are the ingredients in the vaccine
How many doses are recommended and what rate does the percent of immunity go up per a dose.
What is danger to my child if he gets the disease (what are the chances of this happening)
What is the likely hood my son will come in contact with this disease?
If I do want the vaccine when is he most vulnerable to this disease?
What is the danger of the vaccine (what are the chances of this happening)
so I can tell you my son -
got DTap at 2
Got mmr shot one at 3
I think (need to check something first) will get mmr shot two at 5 per discussion wiht ped.
Will get chicken pox vaccine at 12 if he has not naturally goteen chicken pox
will get the Hep shot as a teen also...
im not sure what else he will get it will depend on where we live, what he wants to do, etc

if he wants to leave the country and go somewhere with some of these disease are more likely to get and where medical access is less then I would encourage him to get more of the vaccines when he is older.
