Re: May babies 4/2-4/8
Bag packed-nope....prob do that this week, or atleast, get a bag and toss some things in it. Final packing will prob happen around 38 weeks, so May 1st-ish
Nursery- hopefully by the end of this week. DH got the paint yesterday for the one accent wall and is planning to paint it today. Then i need to set up the crib and get DS's old one out of there (he will just sleep in the new one i guess or move his crib to DS2's room, although i was kinda hoping he'd be in the toddler bed by now) Big purchases- no, i think i have just about everything i need/wanted. Maybe a trip to babies r us for several small things, but prob under $100 total for everything i'd still like to have (more receiving blankets, a decorative basket, memory box, baby bath tub etc...random stuff) Denial- sure! I know i'm pregnant, i see my belly is big,, but it still doesn't feel like i'm going to have a little person attached to me 24/7 again yet. Maybe once the nursery is finished..

Re: May babies 4/2-4/8
bag...no but im getting closer, i have some stuff in a pile now which is in improvement. i have the bag out but nothing in it... i need to get myself some pjs to wear and some new underwear. Ill throw the old ones in the bag and if they get ruined whatever. babys bag is pretty much thrown together and im sure if its anything like last pregnancy ill spend the last week just repacking and checking it and imagining this little person inside the clothes.
Nursery is done but i have a ton of cleaning to do this week sometime so i will probably rewash everything thats been sitting out and dust his stuff. make sure his drawers are organized (enough for daddy) i did some stickers and his name above his bed, and ive been meaning to take a pic of it. big purchases: no and yes. i want a swing but thats about all i need for him. my cousin is supposed to bring the one her baby is using down before i have him. if not no big deal im sure i can pick one up cheap somewhere. Denial!!!! yes count me in. im starting to look at the changes in by body, im starting to finally realize i will be going into labor. I guess its the baby in my arms, up all night, juggling 3 that im not really wrapping my head around. Im ready but im not. |

Re: May babies 4/2-4/8
I think I pretty much have the nursery ready except putting together the crib. Not much decorating here. Clothes and diapers are ready, though.
I made a list for the hospital bag, but haven't started packing it yet. Other things to buy: baby book, some toiletries for hospital (doubles of some things I use all the time to avoid packing last minute) maybe a nursing tank. I've had a small shower and gotten hand me downs of boy clothes, but nothing from several ppl who have asked about a shower or will probably get us things. Not sure what to buy and what to hold off on. A friend lent me a box of mostly large sized maternity clothes, dresses and t shirts! Yeah! So excited I don't have to buy anything else except maybe some lounge pants. Still have some sewing to do: nursing pads, hem ring sling fabric and going home outfit. Oh, and I want to get my cousin's wedding veil done before the baby comes, but her wedding's not until October. I am in denial about labor and birth. I feel like I need to refresh myself on relaxation and breathing. ETA: my newest discomfort is the swelling in my hands makes them hurt a little and they fall asleep a lot at night.

Re: May babies 4/2-4/8
Hah! I am sooo not ready for this baby! She has clothes (could use more since we didn't buy many nb clothes for dd1 because everyone told us she wouldn't be in them for long- turns out she wore them for 6 weeks!!), a hat and we just ordered a wcrs. We have a carseat, swing, stroller and pnp left from dd1...but I still need to get a bassinet, cloth diapers and some little things like rash cream and baby shampoo...and some a&a swaddling blankets. I'm having a small shower the first week of May and made a little registry, although I'm not expecting much since we just had a girl not even 2 years ago. Hopefully we'll get it all ready! But really, if she comes and we're not ready...all I really need are my boobs and some diapers and we'll be ok! Hehe!
Aside from "stuff", I am actually so ready to meet this little baby! I am so excited, dream about having her almost every night, and am overall just feeling ready. Of course I want her to stay where she is for at least another 6 weeks (that would make me 37 weeks), but after that she can come at any time! I have my second appt at the birth center today, but my first one with a midwife (my first one was with a nurse practitioner) so I'm excited! But a little nervous because I think this is when we'll get our payment info. Stephanie, I don't know but sounds painful!! So sorry! We had a busy busy weekend so I haven't been around all weekend...hope everyone is doing well!! |

Re: May babies 4/2-4/8
Alicia- hope you like the midwife you get to see today!
I almost forgot about needing to rewash some diapers i got of fsot a while ago..i just put them away for a later time instead of washing right then...which i guess that "later time" is now lol! I am excited, yet nervous, about going into labor. Mostly b/c i labor fast and am paranoid about having the baby here, alone, or with just my littles here. I just, dont' know what i'd do. I mean, i've had 3 kids, i know WHAT to do physically and generally also b/c i was an EMT...but i have some questions for my midwives..like, if i have the baby at home, should i call 911 as a just in case, then refuse transport? or just have the baby and proceed to the birth center to be checked out afterwards? If we're en route in the car, we'd call 911 right? But they'd want us to go to the hospital and wouldn't transport, i wouldn't think, to the free standing birth center. I dont' really want to ride in a car if i gave birth at home, but i know i'm at risk for hemorrhage so i dont' want to wait to seek care either...going to be asking these things at my next appt.

Re: May babies 4/2-4/8
Bag isnt packed yet but I did wash all nb diapers and picked out Niko's hospital diapers, outfits and a few blankets thats all in a laundry basket.
We bought the 2 littles new carseats yesterday. Annika is potty learned now we just need to get Makenna into her crib and out of the baby bed. No nursery to set up as baby is in our room. I still need to get a large zippered wetbag and new yoga pants for me. And I have to figure out whos gonna help with kids when we go to the hospital.Oh gosh and I titally forgot about a baby book. We have the same one for each kid. I guess Im still in denial for the most part that I only have about a good month left before baby time.
