Re: nipple scabs :(

after each feeding, express a few drops onto your nipple and let it dry for a sec. there are AMAZING healing properties in breastmilk! hang in there...it will get better!

Re: nipple scabs :(

I have nursed 7 newborns now and always wind up with scabs to some varying degree. what hashelped me is to put a little breastmilk on, then goop some lanolin and wear breast sheilds (the shells not the things that you nurse while wearing) so that your bra/clothes don't touch. Don't let your clothes sit right on the scabs. If they dry to the scabs and you pull them off ****ouch**** and the healing process has to start all over. Keep those scabs moisturized witth the lanolin. It should only take a fewdays for them to ereally start healing up if you do this. Once they are healedyou can quit wearing the shields. Sorry about my typing, I'm nursing a baby right now!
