Re: April 2012 Chat Thread
Still playing the waiting game here! I am with a private agency and called DCFS to see if switching to them would get us a better chance of getting a placement! They said that it wouldnt because they take turns taking cases. DCFS has only had one case in the last couple weeks and it was an 11 year old with sexual behaviors(we have young boys so they wouldn't have let us take her). They have intact team and are keeping more children in the home instead of placing them! This sounds great I just hope that they aren't doing it to save money since the state is in bad shape! SO WE WAIT SOME MORE!

Re: April 2012 Chat Thread
Hi everyone. I've been scarce here lately mostly because nothing is happening. I do try to read, but have been busy and not keeping up very well. We will hit our 6 month mark from being approved on Thursday. Not sure how I feel about that, it kind of feels like the wait will be neverending but I'm still hoping we get our miracle someday.

Re: April 2012 Chat Thread
I just hope that they are not keeping the kids in a bad situation to save money! If they are safe it is best to keep them home but I just worry they are doing it for the wrong reason.

There's other agencies that also post situations online (usually not all of them) that I can give you links to if you are interested. I know it helped me to feel like I was looking for our baby instead of feeling like it was out of my control.

Re: April 2012 Chat Thread
Figured I'd post this just in case anyone out there wants to adopt this very special needs baby that most likely won't live too long: http://www.littlebitofheavenadoption...ituations.html

We tried Guardian Angel for two years. It was impossible to talk to anyone. They require lots of paperwork up front like actual copies of your divorce decree and birth certificates. We sent it all and never could get in touch with anyone so after two plus years, I called and it took several tries to get the originals back. I'd be concerned about Utah adoptions in less you live in Utah as they don't usually include the birthfather so insist on that as there have been a bunch of cases of birthfathers trying to get their kids as they never consented and what the agencies were doing was unethical (in some peoples mind). They don't charge money up front so they get lots of families applying but they charge a lot at the mid-point and end. If your situation falls through, they keep your money.
