I read the thread- what a gorgeous baby!

What are you using for diapers? Some of our one-size aios are getting tight!

I was wondering about those milestones too since she has a lot of mass to move! She is within normal, but later than some smaller babies I know. But I can tell she is super strong under there.

Re: Big Baby Concerns

My 14 week son is 16.5 lbs. He had nearly doubled his 7 lb, 10 oz birthweight at his 2 month appointment. It's because of my pure mama cream, I'm sure. ;-)

My friend who is a doctor said that there needs to be a different height/weight chart for breastfed babies.

Re: Big Baby Concerns

Sounds like you have great milk mama!

My DS is 7.5 months and 20 lbs - and our pediatrician always complements me and tells me how wonderful he is doing. One thing he did say with solids is to avoid carbs and sugars. So we aren't doing any baby rice or cereals or rice crackers - he gets fruits and vegetables and that is about it.

Also, we just started crawling (first started scooting across the living room about 5 hours ago!) I suspect that will change things.

BG 4.0's were great until 25 lbs. I can still squeeze her in them but they're tighter than I'd like with her body shape. My current favorite is Happy Heiny's XL, and Flip covers with padfolded flats

Re: Big Baby Concerns

My daughter was 9lbs, 3 oz at birth and 25 lbs at her 6 month appointment. At 16 months she is 25 lbs. She walked at 8 months and is just a very solid little girl. She continues to get taller and more slender over time. She is 100% different from DD1, who was always on the 2.5% on the growth chart. DD1 bf until 37 months. DD2 is 16 months and still going strong. If your baby is happy and otherwise healthy, weight means nothing at this age.

My big guy is 20 pounds at 4 months and I do pretty much the same as you and not changing a thing! They slow down as they get older

There is one. Drs just don't use it. My dr said it wouldn't really matter though because breast milk varies so much.

Re: Big Baby Concerns

She sounds perfect. My second was 9 lbs 6 oz at birth and 25 lbs at 6 months. Now at 3.5 years old she's a tiny little 33 lbs.
