Lump in breast?
I'm only 3 weeks pp, but have noticed a lump in my right breast. I"m bf'ing fulltime, and it's not at all painful - so I don't think mastitis. Could it just be a plugged duct? It's been there for at least 4-5 days...

I had a plugged duct once and it didn't hurt. Try pointing baby's chin towards the lump. If it's a plugged duct it should clear up in the next few days.

Re: Lump in breast?
Did you try warming the area and massaging it while baby feeds?

Re: Lump in breast?
If is isn't constant, it could just be the way your body stores milk. Early on, I have 3 marble sized bumps that show up on the surface of the skin as I get full.

Re: Lump in breast?
I have a lump too that showed up right as I began breastfeeding. I thought it was a plugged duct but after a few weeks went for an ultrasound and they guessed it was a fatty tumor. It is constant. So, could be anything, but be sure to ask your ob to take a look.

Re: Lump in breast?
I had a lump in my breast and my OB sent me to a breast oncologist. He was terbily attractive which made the entire thing very awkward for me
. In any case, he said that my ducts were just in a tangled bunch in that spot. That it happens and not to worry about it. If it started to hurt (too full) to stimulate let down and drain some milk. It did not bother me in general. I would always advise checkng it out though.
