Re: 3w old not having enough soiled diapers ?
I can't speak on the BM issue obviously, but a few things with formula:
What formula are you using? That can cause issues with too few poops or too many so you may want to switch formulas. We found the Gerbers caused poops so we'd do that once a day (the 3 oz glass bottles). We also had constipation with some of the different brands. The organic were the worst for us. A few of the mom's here are good experts. The sensitive formulas are far better for a lot of kids (though many do well on the regular but I would never try one again as I think they are too hard on a baby's stomach). Are you mixing pumped breast milk and formula? We did that for a week and it gave us terrible runs and stomach problems that we had to go to the ER (but we didn't have a regular doctor or we would have gone there). I would not mix them even though some people say too. My husband thought it was a great idea so he did it and oops... Try different bottles as some let out more air than others. What works for one child may not work for yours. If you have formula issues, you can also go to a "good" GI. Ours knew every formula and had good suggestions (but trial and error worked better). The ped's tell you to pick one and stick with it but that does not work with all kids.
