Night training

DD is 25mo and is completely day trained and has been since Nov. of last year. My guestion is about night time. She naps without trainer/diaper but at night we still put her in a diaper. For about the past 2 months she's been waking up dry about 4 nights a week, once or so a week she'll wake me to take her to potty during the night. But the other 3 nights she's still wetting at night.
Do we keep using diapers til she's completely dry at night and if so, for how long? Or is there something else we should be doing?
And what do most moms do about diaper laundry when it gets down this low--just 3 diapers and a some wipes each week, it's too small to wash all by itself!

Re: Night training

we switch to trainers when they are just in them for naps/nights. they pull up and down easier for nighttime potty trips and i just wash them on hot with towels or sheets every 2-3 days. fwiw my 4 and 5.5 year olds are still in trainers at night. the 5.5 year old wets about 1/2 the time, just a little stops and wakes up and changes and goes potty. the 4 year old can and will sleep through anything. she wears the same trainer all night and is always wet in teh am.

Re: Night training

4 dry nights out of 7 sounds awesome!! If I were in your situation, I would switch to underwear at night, and then figure out what times work best to wake DD up and ask her if she has to potty. It may only be once before you go to bed, or she may need another reminder in the early morning hours. It'll be trial and error in the beginning, but she sounds ready to be diaper-free to me! Good luck!

Disclaimer: For the record, I do not (yet) have a nighttime potty trained child. We were very close with 2yo DD, having started the method I mention here, but then we put her in daycare and she regressed to having numerous accidents around the clock. She's back to being accident-free during the day, but she still wets at night. Once she has a couple dry nights such as your child, you can bet we'll be starting this back up again.
