Re: How much are you pumping?

DS is 15 months, and I am down to pumping 2x a day at work, 11am and 3pm. I usually take home between 9-11oz, although this week with an odd schedule and lack of sleep, I only took home 7oz yesterday. DS does not take any of it anymore (only wants it straight from the tap), so almost all of it goes into the freezer for my milk baby (donor baby), in 3oz increments. DS gets anything left over that is less than 3oz for cereal.

My daughter is 2 weeks old and I'm pumping an nursing. I am currently getting about 2 oz per session total. I am slowly building up a stash but I feel like I should be making more than this at one session. How much should I be getting? Should I worry about trying to increase my supply?

Re: How much are you pumping?

I try and pump every 4-5 hrs during the day, and at least once in the night. Generally I pump at 7am (9-11oz) noon (6-7oz) 4pm(6-7oz) 8pm(6-8oz) 1or2am (8ish oz) My baby is 5mo old, and I make enough for him, but nothing extra to freeze. I was pumping every 3hrs, but since Ive started taking fenugreek & drinking milk tea, its allowed me to make more, while pumping less. Pumping every 3 hours was taking over my life. I had no time for my other children.

I forgot to add that I can pump for as little as 10 minutes if Im short on time, but I like to wait, and get a second letdown (takes 13 mins) because I find it helps keep my supply up. so usually I pump for 15 mins to finish the 2nd letdown.
