Re: Out of curiosity...
DH and I are fairly big people (Dutch genetics), and he and his siblings were big babies - 9-10lbs. My biggest sibling was 8lb - most of us were in the 7lb range. My babies have been 6-13, 7-10, 7-8, 6-3, and 7-1. Definitely more inline with my own birth weight -thankfully!

Re: Out of curiosity...
I was just over 5 pounds, born at 42 weeks. DH was just over 7 pounds, born a few days before 40 weeks.
Our babies were 9 lbs 3 oz at 41 weeks, and 9 lbs 9 oz at 41+1. I ate well, exercised, didn't have GD, and gained less than 30 pounds with each pregnancy.

DD1 was 6 lb 11 oz & DD2 was 6 lb 15 oz Sent from my iPhone using DS Forum

Re: Out of curiosity...
I was 6lbs 13oz and stayed a little skinny baby. DH was 4lbs 6oz but was born 6 weeks early. He was also a very small baby and child.
My first baby was 7lbs. 8oz and then jumped to the 95th percentile. My second baby was 9lbs 1oz and was off the charts for quite a while! I didn't have GD with either of them, but I do have it now, and it looks like this baby is going to be smaller, LOL! I guess we'll just have to wait and see. In any case, it didn't hold true for me. My babies have both been bigger than I was.

Re: Out of curiosity...
My husband was 9lbs 14oz at birth (20days late) and I was 7lbs even at 38 weeks.
My first daughter was 9lbs 0oz and my second was 7lbs 11oz. My husband's brother was 9lbs at 37 weeks, and his dad was 10lbs 2oz, not sure gestation.

Re: Out of curiosity...
I was 8lb 7oz at birth, David was 7lb 7 oz at birth and Claire was split right down the middle of our weights at 7lb 15oz.
I had pretty bad GD with her, but we stayed right on top of it and kept it controlled because I wanted to be sure that I was able to have a natural birth.

Re: Out of curiosity...
From what I've read baby tend to get larger, boys larger than girls, your weight gain and health. Smoking, caffeine etc can cause lower birth weight. Genetically, the birth weight is predisposed by the mothers side, not fathers.... But doesn't mean you won't have a large baby.

Re: Out of curiosity...
No way to test this theory for us, as my DH and I (and all our siblings) were all over 9lbs.
