retained placenta via c-section??
Anyone every have any issues after your c-section, such as a partially retained placenta? Wondering how it's even possible... trying not to be upset about it!

Re: retained placenta via c-section??
Not quite the same, I had placenta increta with my most recent delivery, but my doc suspected it after I was diagnosed with placenta previa at my 19 week ultrasound. This was my 4th c-section and the risk of placenta accreta/increta/percreta goes up drastically after 3 c-sections. Because the risk of hemorrhage during delivery with increta is really high, I had a planned c-hyst.
In theory a doc should be able to tell that the placenta hasn't completely detached during a c-section. Were you told about it after your delivery? There are some doctors who prefer to treat retained placenta with medication rather than risk additional surgery with the possibility of bleeding. |
