Re: Toddler Tooth Trauma
Well I have first hand experience at this. When I was 3.5 Iface planted at high speed into a curb. my upper four front teeth shattered and embeded themselves into my gums and lips.I also severed the little piece of skin attaching my lips to my gums causing it to curl up.My lips were skinned off and my shirt was soaked in blood. The pain was horrid.I had emergency surgery to reaattch my lip to gums and remove as much tooth fragment as possible.I was put under and remember very little but waking up to a mikey mouse as big as me and really only remember how muvh it hurt when water caused my scabed lips to crack.I had no speech problems but it took me a long time to whistle.Don't worry about speech the infection is far worse if you could see a pimple like white head on the gums thus would mean that puss has worked its way through the pourus juvenile tooth to the gums, at this point it is more painful for your child(experience from my daredevil child)
