Re: Errands with newborn! Advice?

I have a moby that I just could not figure out... But I finally got it and baby loves it! Hopefully I can get him into it again at the various places I need to go today! Thanks for all the advice.

Well, the moby for post office was amazing... downside was that my little boy cried from the time i took him out of it til the time we got home! guess he really likes it! too bad it's against the law (and pretty dangerous) to just drive with him in it!

Glad it worked out! And you can check YouTube for ways to carry in the Moby. I was puzzled the first few times and that was a lifesaver. Also, putting it on before leaving the house so I just had to slip baby in when we got where we were going was a great tip I got.

Re: Errands with newborn! Advice?

carrier- sling, pouch, SSC, wrap, whatever. I did errands with 4 under 5 all the time and that's the only way I got stuff done. This pregnancy, I have gone to costco, hugely pregnant, wearing my toddler on my back and carrying a big box of costco stuff in my arms. I couldn't do anything without babywearing.

My son didn't cry getting in and out (and was more likely to fuss if left in the car seat) so it was easier to just put him in the carrier and wear him for errands.

Glad he liked the Moby and that it made the errand easier. Too bad he was sad about going back in the car, though!

2,014 items in 2014?

Yay for babywearing! It really changed my life.

And I hear you about the carseat crying . My small one has been a car screamer since he was just a few days old.

This is generally what I do. Now that I have a newborn and toddler though I basically wear the newborn all the time because I can't deal with the bucket seat and holding a toddler hand.

Either car seat in the stroller or baby in a sling or wrap.

Yes this! When my boys were little I would just keep them in the carseat unless it was a long trip. They would always be asleep by the time we got to where we were going and taking them out to put them in a carrier would just wake them up and they would be grouchy
