This exactly. I don't buy things I don't intend to use, no matter how cheap. I figure there is someone out there that NEEDS the good deal. And, yes, I do judge a bit when people buy things just to resell.

That said, a friend's mom did that growing up to support them. She couldn't make ends meet otherwise. I am trying to keep in mind that resellers might be in the same position. But I feel for our financial position it would be wrong to snatch up all the good deals.

Re: Be honest...are you a diaper Capitalist?

I wouldn't resell a ffs but a gift I didn't need or something I found cheap and knew I could sell for more I would. I don't see why people have a problem with that. Isn't that what stores do? Buy low sell high. I think it is only morally wrong if you take unfair advantage of someone. When I know someone is in need and I can give I do. I've given a complete diaper stash to a friend in need offered a stash to another friend. They weren't new or pretty but at the time it was all we had.

Re: Be honest...are you a diaper Capitalist?

Why wouldn't you sell something for as much as you can make off of it?

I think the only time I wouldn't maximize my profit is if I were giving something as a charity or if I had received it as a charity. I think in charity cases (FFS, etc.), it's only right to pay it forward.

I don't buy anything to purposefully resell but I have sold my freebie diapets at market value if they are something I don't like. The majority of my selling is at a loss.

I definitely don't go looking for deals to turn around and resell. If I win a diaper in a giveaway though, and decide it just doesn't work for us, I will sell it at a profit TO ME- but still giving the buyer a heckuva deal. (And I don't just enter every giveaway, only ones that really interest me.)

Nope. I'd enjoy the diaper then enjoy a quick sale when I was ready to let it go. I wouldn't judge anyone who would(Heck, I just jokingly told some one on FB the other day to auction their SBish on Spots' so they could get exponentially more than those baby pants are worth! :giggle), but I sure do get a good laugh out of watching the prices on the auctions climb higher and higher for something a baby is going to destroy as nature intended with their fecal matter.

Re: Be honest...are you a diaper Capitalist?

If I give away something, I hope the other person passes it on for free, unless we agree otherwise I try to remember to put on all my lottos "please pass on if you can't use". I have given away the item, with the hope that the item will be used/enjoyed by someone who otherwise could not purchase it. I almost always even pay for postage.

I understand I have no right to complain about others decisions, reselling at a high value is not "wrong". But those great deals can be so hard to come by, and another struggling family could have really used that item. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. On the other hand, people willing to pay jacked up prices for some silly print (like the $200 Gastly Goodmama, or whatever it was) probably don't need the deal anyway, so I don't feel too sorry that they are not getting a break.

I shop a lot at the Goodwill Bins, where items are sold by the pound. I buy cheap nice toddler clothes to give away at the non-profit agency I work with. There are several aggressive people that almost live there, that obviously try to snatch up anything with a resale value they can. When ever a new bin comes in, they spread out, scope it out, and snatch up the nicer things, in about a second, knocking me out of the way if they have to. The people there that are just down on their luck, looking for needed household things do not act like this.

honestly, yes, I would sell it for whatever I could get for it. Stores buy low and sell high, so why can't I?
