All of you guys are so amazing! I wish I could get DH on board for a larger family- we are at three, and he is cringing at the thought of #4.

Re: Adopting in a large family
Stupid NC! I think they are the lowest. Its ridiculous! I shouldnt say stupid nc because i love it and hope to move there one day. But thats a little ridiculous. I think 8 is usually the top so maybe pp got an exception for a sibling group.

Re: Adopting in a large family
We have 6 bio children. I want to adopt and/or do foster care. But not for another 10 years minimum.

All I want is a house chock full of kids! LOL Honestly, it is really tough to figure out what we are going to do. We know we want more bio kids, but since we can only foster/adopt with less than 5 kids, we think we'll add to the family through adoption 2 more times and THEN get preggo again. (if we live to tell the tale...) ![]() It's crazy how the rule is literally dictating our life choices. Can't get preggo or we won't get to foster.

Re: Adopting in a large family
We have three bio (2 from my previous marriage) age 6 and younger and are currently in the process of international adoption. We are approved for two more children (sibling or unrelated.) And actually, the social worker who did our home study (our agency is out of state, so we had to have an in-state social worker for our homestudy report) told us at one point that she wouldn't be surprised if our one year post-placement visit with her turns into signing a contract for another homestudy to adopt again. We tend to agree.

Re: Adopting in a large family
Lucky mama! I tend to romanticize larger families because i am an only child i think. But in reality i dont think im cut out for more than four. Thats my personal "big enough to be fun but not too big to put me in the nuthouse" number.
but i dont think less than 6is really a large family. Its a lot but not a real lot.

The exception for me is that hubby has totally not been on board for adoption, but in the last week or so, he seems to be warming up to the idea! I am so thrilled watching him coming around to seeing that our family could benefit from adopting. Yay! We won't be ready for beginning that journey for a couple years. But I have(off and on) read up on adoption for at least 15 years. Good luck to all!
