Re: Would you relocate for your spouse?
Obviously I'm the odd duck out. Situation A no, not a chance. Situation B would not happen since I can't lose my job.

I would go both times so long as we weren't moving to a job that pays equal but we would have a higher cost of living. It would have to benefit our family quite a bit more for either of us to make that decision.

Re: Would you relocate for your spouse?
First situation, relocate, hands down, no questions asked. 3-5 hours is SO close to home, it's basically a non-issue to me. Second situation would be more tricky. But, my dad commuted for two years when he got his current job, so my sister could graduate high school...turns out she would have done a lot better moving, and getting away from the crowd she was in.
I'm a military wife, so at 18 years old, I moved from North Dakota to California, lived there for 4 years, then moved to Pensacola, Florida, where I am now. And we are counting down the years until we can move back to North Dakota.

Absolutely. I've spent more than enough time being apart from my husband while he's deployed. I'm not going to willingly keep our family apart. He's been in the army for 10 years. We moved from VA to NC, then to Germany. We should leave Germany next year but I'm not sure where we'll be sent. As long as he's with us, I'm happy.

I might be flamed for this but I can't help but question the dedication to one's marriage if they would refuse to relocate for their spouse. This goes for husband or wife.
Edited to correct my iPad's stupid auto correct.

Definitely relocate for both. Why not? I would expect the same. Dream jobs don't grow on trees.

Relocate in a heartbeat. You have to keep the family together.
As a note, I did move every year in high school. Don't let that stop you from moving. Every school had good and bad about it and I had new experiences in all of them that weren't possible in the others. I also had friends. It's not that big of a deal.
