Daily Exercise 4/24-5/1

40 minutes on the elliptical and 10 mins on the treadmill. My legs were NOT interested in running today. Hit the Shred THEN a 4.81 mile run this evening so my legs ended up being ok with running.

I started week 2 of Ripped in 30 today. Tonight I am taking my first ever yoga class and if DH gets home from work early today I may do a easy short run before yoga.

the kids and I have been sick and out of school for 12 days
so today it felt great to send them back to school
and get a 3 mile walk in for myself

Elliptical 45 minutes, bike 15 minutes and 30 day shred level 3. Tomorrow is my last Shred day and I'm happy. I'm feeling over Jillian right now and need a new "fix".

6 mile run in the park today.

I am officially registered for my first 5k which is this Saturday. EEK, I am excited but nervous about the course.

I have been struggling with the motivation to do ripped in 30 this week. I need to get back at it.

Yesterday biked for 2 hours. Today I ran 5 miles and biked 20 mins. I had to pee during my run though- I think the surgery may have caused some swelling in myuterus- so it mustve pressed on my bladder. Oh well- the run felt great though.

45 minutes on the elliptical this morning. Today is my last shred workout and I'm hoping to get in a run this evening.

I am running my first 5K race tomorrow. Anyone have any tips?

My A goal is to finish under 30 minutes and my B goal is to finish under 35 minutes. Of course I would absolutely love to run at a 9:30 pace but my typical runs are around a 10:00 to 10:40 pace. The only time I run faster then that is when I run with a running group for 6 miles on Wednesdays. This past week I really tried to up my speed and I ended up finishing the 6 miles at a 9:44 pace. But that course was pretty flat with only small inclines and the race is in a park that is very hilly.

I am just worried that I will start out to fast in the race and will lose steam. But I also worry that I will start to slow and not be able to make up the time.

Start out at a comfy pace. Towards the end start picking people ahead of you to pass up. Eat a light breakfast (toast and peanut butter is my go to) prior to you race. That's my advice on a 5k. Good luck! You will do great I know!!
